Job Description
Overview:
This position will Install, operate, and maintain the following operating systems: UNIX (Solaris) Windows Client and Server Operating Systems and provide system administration and network support for classroom and C4I systems.
Responsibilities:
Maintains Combat Operations Center systems and associated workstations by installing, configuring, and troubleshooting each respective system in accordance with supporting technical documentation.
Rebuilds systems for future exercises.
Installs IAVAs and ensures that the operating system and C2 servers are IA compliant.
Provides subject matter expertise, feedback, and input to Program Managers for the following C4I systems: IOS, GCCS, C2PC Gateway, Command Post of the Future(CPOF) Mid Tier Caching Server and CPOF Client Workstations, IOW (Operations and Intel) Client Workstations and IGCCS Client Workstation.
Develops instructional material and instructs on the installation, operation, and maintenance of UNIX (Solaris), IOS v1, IOS v2, IOW, C2PC Gateway, Command Post of the Future (CPOF) Mid Tier Caching Server and CPOF Client Workstations, IOW (Operations and Intel) Client Workstations. Develops, tests, and evaluates interoperability procedures.
Develops C4I Systems Integration plan in support of MCTOG exercises and based on the currently fielded C2 Systems in use at MCTOG.
Provide instruction on C2 Systems interoperability with respect to each system.
Maintains CIDNE Servers and works with CENTCOM to ensure MCTOG receives regular database updates in support of exercise use. Plans, installs, and configures.
Maintains multiple SQL data bases.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems or Electrical Engineering desired.
Certifications required (from DODINST 8570):CompTIA Network +, Comp TIA Security+, UNIX Systems Administrator Level I.
Formal training at one of the following courses: GCCS System Administrator, IOS V2 System Administrator Course and IOW System Administrator Course. Command Post of the Future Systems Administration Course.
Previous military service is desired, preference is former U.S. Marine.
Minimum four years in command and control systems administration and networking administration.
Minimum three years’ experience with the installation, operation, and maintenance of UNIX (Solaris), Windows, IOS, IOW, and GCCS Client Workstation.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
