Description

The successful candidate will be part of a team establishing requirements for and conducting analyses of centralized integrated databases of aviation safety data and other aviation and weather data in order to identify potential factors that may lead to aviation accidents or incidents. In addition, the candidate will help develop and apply analytical tools to analyze the data in order to identify trends and to assess known risks. Active security clearance a plus; Candidate must be eligible to get a Secret Security Clearance.

Requirements

Required education/experience: BS or equivalent and 5 yrs of related experience or MS or equivalent and 3 yrs of related experience or PhD and 1 yr of related experience. Desired Education/Experience: Master's Degree in aviation related field, Operations Research, Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, other physical science/engineering field, or equivalent experience. Experience in the field of aviation safety and Military Flight Operations Quality Assurance (MFOQA)is highly desired.
Required Skills: Demonstrated expertise in technical analyses involving modeling and simulation, statistical analysis and methods, or risk analysis. Desired Skills: Data and text mining, knowledge of aviation or Air Traffic Control operations, aviation safety analyses, MFOQA or ASAP, knowledge of Blue Force Tracker application.
May require travel up to 5% of the time. Salary depending on experience. This position can be a direct hire or contract position with the US Army on Redstone Arsenal.
